Expleo requires a number of Stress Analysts to provide support to one of our major clients based in the South West. Ideally, we are looking for skilled engineering professionals to join us on a permanent basis, however, we may consider contract staff. The roles will be based on-site at our clients’ facility in Somerset, the work will involve carrying out stress/structural analysis associated with the design of products for the sub-sea environment. In addition to the salary, we offer 25 days leave, optional health care, pension plan plus a host of other staff benefits. Due to the nature of the projects, candidates must be eligible for full UK security clearance. Primary Purpose of the Role: We require a suitably qualified and experienced engineer to carry out stressing / structural analysis together with other engineering tasks. It will involve the analysis of both client and externally designed products and installations with more specialised tasks associated with design for the subsea environment. What the role involves: The role will include the following activities and other tasks as they arise: Mechanical design and stressing activities as part of a team of engineers. Utilise knowledge and experience to advise on the tasks undertaken. Support other engineering projects and teams or functions. Work with production and procurement to produce cost effective easy to manufacture design solutions. The following are essential requirements for the role: Skills: The ability to undertake a number of structural problems including: Linear Non Linear Statics Dynamics Buckling Fatigue Contact Impact Hydrostatic Pressure Loading Analysis using standard methods such as hand calculations and FEA Use of the following Analysis Tools: MSC Patran MSC Nastran MSC Dytran Pro Mechanica Experience: Mechanical Design using a 3D CAD system Able to demonstrate strong experience of mechanical stressing using a wide range of material models including: Isotropic Orthotropic Anisotropic Metals Composites Elastomers It is also desirable to have experience in the following: Proficient in the use of Creo Use of the following Analysis Tools: MSC Marc MSC Patran Laminate Modeller
