Here at Expleo we work with some of the biggest names in the Aerospace and Defence sectors. As part of some strategic growth we are looking to bring in a Software Engineer to bolster what we can offer to our customers and increase our capacity and turnaround time.
This position is for one of our sister companies, called Stirling Dynamics, who have a very strong brand within a few niche but global specialisms. They form part of the wider spreading Expleo Group who specialise in the Aero, Defence, Marine and Automotive engineering sectors in the UK and abroad. In the UK Expleo has more than 500 permanent staff working across a variety of projects within these sectors and are seeing movement in the direction following the recent turmoil caused by Covid-19.
Being a Software Engineer at Expleo Group means you will be able to gain a wide range of experience as we try and keep a fluid approach to working so that we can offer our customers a solution, no matter what they are looking to achieve. In this position you will be working across both the Aerospace and Marine sectors.
You will form part of Active Control Product team and will be getting involved in the development of existing real-time control software, aircraft simulator interface software and the development of supporting software tools to improve production efficiency. You will also be involved in the growing requirement for coding of safety related software, within the Marine and Aerospace domain.
What we are looking to see from applicants is as follows;
• C / C++ coding experience
• Ethernet / IP experience (Specifically UDP)
• Version Control System experience (Perforce, Git, Etc)
• Command line Linux Experience
• Experience of Real Time Operating Systems such as QNX is desirable
• Awareness of coding standards and how this effects code quality is desirable
• Exposure to embedded electronic hardware is desirable but not essential.

We would like someone who actively looks to take ownership of an activity and has the resilience to see it through to a successful result. The successful candidate will be working as part of a larger team within the offices we have in the Bristol Business Park.
